It is mentioned in the FastCompany article by Zimberof that algae can be used to feed fish farms and that so overfishing of anchovies can partially be avoided. It is also already used for several other animal productions (Spolaore, Joannis-Cassan et al., 2005). On a greater perspective, would it be possible to feed it to other animals, cattle, at a lower environmental cost than soy, for example? Would it save water, free up arable soils for human consumption productions? Would it reduce the ecological footprint of meat consumption?
