Algorythms are mostly conceived and used by individuals or private companies to serve economic interests. They can be socially relevant or “hacked” for bad purpose. The states can try to play a role in their regulation, but the technology moves so fast that it’s always in reaction to the private initiatives, and sometimes it’s too late to intervene.

So, in addition to the regulation, would it be possible for the public sector to also use the algorythms for general interest, whether creating new ones or using the ones created by the private stakeholders ? Do we have existing examples ?
