As Adam Levy from the Nature Podcast states it: our relationship to space has considerably evolved from the 1950’s and 1960’s. It went from exploring to exploiting. What concerns me is that there is little if any easily accessible, understandable, up-to-date, documentation about what is truly going on in space. I will not go as far as falling into the “why do they keep everything secret in space” trap because it won’t be intellectually interesting, but it is true that there is a consistent lack of transparency about:

  • who owns satellites in space and what are their purpose and use?
  • what military devices are put in space and what are their range and possibilities of actions?
  • is there a land market for space that we are not really aware of?

–> how can we ensure more transparency about space?
