According to Space Safety Magazine, the interplanetary contamination is “the introduction of biological material from one planetary body (planet, moon, asteroid) to another”. NASA has a Planetary Committee which “includes programs, policies, plans, hazard identification and risk assessment, and other matters pertinent to the Agency’s responsibilities for biological planetary protection.” Has humankind ever conceived any clear schedule to follow to avoid interplanetary contamination?
