Should outer space resources exploitation be banned? Indeed, we can wonder if it is not easier, in order to prevent derives and problems, to ban outer space resources exploitation (not exploration!), because it seems that people focus on colonising and exploiting resources from the space to avoid dealing with the current earth problems caused by human activity: the climate change. Also, as stated in the CNBC article, allowing mineral and metal exploitation from celestial bodies raises a lot of questions regarding the legality of mining, the recognition of the private ownership of these resources (when the Moon is considered to be the “common heritage of mankind”), as well as the potential danger associated with these minerals and metals (we might not have on earth). In my opinion, space exploitation is only about consuming more and more and avoiding the real problems.
