This question is twofold as the use of algae on a wide scale would both mean a generalization of algae intake within the population, but also mean large scale production plants that will need special regulations. Algae are already present in many food industries (Fresewinkel, Rosello et al., 2014), and there already have been some health issues with algae (as mentioned in the “Hope you like algae, because it’s going to be in everything you eat” article). So what could be some foreseeable issues regarding the management of algae production and the banalization of algae consumption?
