The aggravating symptoms of ocean change will threaten the livelihood of more and more populations and the lifestyle of everyone on planet Earth, precisely at a time when the global population is set to climb up to its peak and the challenges of mass migration and the sharing of resources seem particularly daunting. In order to think about how this perfect storm could be managed, it is crucial to know which populations will be displaced, in what order, and where they will likely go to find refuge from both coastal flooding and continental desertification. What predictions do oceanographers currently make on this topic?
